Brown Fused Alumina (BFA)

Description

Brown Fused Alumina (BFA) is a tough, angular abrasive material produced by melting high-quality bauxite in an electric arc furnace at over 2000°C. It is composed mainly of aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃), offering high hardness, excellent toughness, thermal resistance, and strong cutting performance.

BFA is widely used in abrasive tools such as grinding wheels, cutting discs, sandpaper, and abrasive belts. It is also ideal for surface blasting, rust removal, precision grinding, polishing, and surface preparation of metals, ceramics, and glass. Thanks to its sharp edges and durability, BFA ensures high efficiency and long service life in demanding applications.

In addition to abrasives, Brown Fused Alumina is commonly used as a raw material for refractory products including castables, firebricks, and kiln furniture. Its heat resistance and chemical stability make it suitable for use in high-temperature industrial furnaces, steelmaking, and foundry operations.

With its excellent performance and cost-effectiveness, BFA remains one of the most widely used and trusted abrasive materials in modern industry.
