White Fused Alumina (WFA)

Description

White Fused Alumina (WFA) is a high-purity, synthetic abrasive made from industrial alumina melted in an electric arc furnace. With an aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) content of over 99%, WFA offers exceptional hardness (Mohs 9.0), chemical stability, thermal resistance, and sharp cutting ability.

Its iron-free composition ensures no contamination of the workpiece, making it ideal for precision grinding, sandblasting, polishing, and lapping of non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and stainless steel, as well as glass, ceramics, and electronic components. It is also widely used in the production of high-grade refractory materials like shaped bricks, castables, and ceramic parts for high-temperature industrial use.

White Fused Alumina features angular particles with excellent cutting performance and minimal dust generation. It is available in both bonded abrasive grades (F-grit) and coated abrasive grades (P-grit), with grit sizes ranging from F12 to F240 and P12 to P400, meeting international standards such as FEPA and ANSI.

Its high purity, sharpness, and low impurity levels make WFA an essential material for demanding surface preparation and precision finishing tasks in aerospace, electronics, metallurgy, and advanced manufacturing industries.
